Australian boxing promoter No Limit Boxing has announced a major middleweight bout between Tim Tszyu and Errol Spence Jr, scheduled for Sunday in New South Wales. Held at the 21,000-capacity AfterPay Arena, the event is being positioned by promoter George Rose as one of the region’s most significant sporting spectacles. A victory for Tszyu would secure him a shot at the middleweight world title, adding considerable weight to the contest.
The fight represents a substantial evolution for No Limit Boxing, which was founded in 2013 in Dubbo. The organisation began with small local events at the Dubbo RSL, catering to a few hundred spectators, before securing a broadcast deal with FOX Sports after just five shows. Rose described the upcoming clash as a culmination of the company’s growth, leveraging Spence’s global star power and Tszyu’s recent momentum to attract a major international audience.
Tszyu enters the bout with a record of 27 wins and 3 losses, including 18 knockouts. His path to this opportunity has been marked by volatility; he suffered three consecutive defeats between March 2024 and July 2025, including losses to Bakhram Murtazaliev and Sebastian Fundora. However, he has since rebounded to regain champion status. Rose, who has worked closely with Tszyu since his early career, described the promoter-fighter relationship as familial, noting the emotional difficulty of navigating Tszyu’s recent losses.
Spence Jr, carrying a record of 28 wins and 1 loss with 22 knockouts, is seeking to rebuild his standing after a single previous defeat. The bout takes place on a weekend that also features high-profile returns for Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua, yet Rose argued that the Tszyu-Spence matchup holds its own significance within the global calendar.
