Nicolas Cage leads trailer for John Madden biopic
David O. Russell’s Madden is scheduled to open in cinemas on 11 November before arriving on Prime Video a week later.
The trailer for Madden, David O. Russell’s biopic of American football coach John Madden, has been released. Nicolas Cage plays Madden, with Christian Bale as Raiders owner Al Davis.
The film portrays Madden’s coaching career, including health problems that lead to his retirement from coaching, and his subsequent broadcasting work.
It also depicts Madden’s input into the first Madden NFL video game. In the trailer, comedian John Mulaney plays EA founder Trip Hawkins, who pitches a game to the coach.
Kathryn Hahn plays Madden’s wife, Virginia, while Sienna Miller plays Davis’s wife, Carol. The source institution, Engadget, reports that Madden and Davis partnered in the Raiders’ 1977 Super Bowl win.
The film is scheduled to open in cinemas on 11 November and arrive on Prime Video on 18 November. The source does not specify the year for either date.
