The National Football League has suspended referee Adrian Hill for one game and line judge Jeff Seeman for two games after separate Week 4 incidents involving players. The NFL said the suspensions were for “unprofessional conduct toward a player”.

Seeman exchanged words with Arizona Cardinals tight end Trey McBride during the team’s 36–24 loss to the New York Giants. The exchange followed a declined pass-interference call on a third-down pass to McBride. The available report says the words were not captured by CBS microphones, leaving the precise exchange unclear.

Hill was involved in an incident with Minnesota Vikings linebacker Eric Wilson and Miami Dolphins running back Ollie Gordon during Minnesota’s 15–10 win. According to the report, Gordon was blocking Wilson into Hill after the whistle, and Hill was knocked down before shouting at Wilson. Wilson reportedly offered Hill a hand up.

The NFL has opened an investigation into Hill’s incident. No findings have been reported.
