NFL suspends Colts’ Taylor-Britt for one game over conduct policy breach
The Indianapolis Colts’ defensive back will serve a one-game suspension after pleading guilty to reckless driving and an unlicensed driving charge.
The National Football League has suspended Indianapolis Colts cornerback Cam Taylor-Britt for one game after he was found to have violated the league’s personal conduct policy. The disciplinary action confirms that Taylor-Britt will miss the team’s Week 1 home fixture against the Baltimore Ravens.
The suspension follows a legal incident in which Taylor-Britt served a five-day jail sentence in January. He had pleaded guilty to reckless driving and an unclassified no-license charge stemming from an incident in September 2025. According to a Cincinnati police officer, the cornerback was driving recklessly in an area where pedestrians were still present, following a Cincinnati Bengals game.
Taylor-Britt, 26, signed a one-year deal with the Colts this offseason, reuniting with defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo, who previously coached him with the Bengals. Anarumo’s first season in Indianapolis saw the Colts’ defence rank 21st in points allowed, 31st in passing yards allowed, seventh in rushing yards allowed, 26th in third-down efficiency, and 11th in red zone efficiency.
The cornerback was originally selected 60th overall in the 2022 NFL Draft. He established himself as a starter for Cincinnati as a rookie, helping the team reach the AFC title game. He recorded a career-high four interceptions in 2023 and three in the following season, before suffering a season-ending Lisfranc injury during a Week 11 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2025.
The NFL’s intervention underscores the league’s enforcement of its personal conduct standards, requiring Taylor-Britt to sit out the opening match of the season. The Colts will now need to adjust their secondary ahead of their home opener against Baltimore.
