New video footage surfaces showing Patriots coach Mike Vrabel and former reporter Dianna Russini on a 2021 boat trip
The video, released by TMZ, shows the couple on a private vessel while Russini was pregnant; Vrabel has since committed to counselling ahead of the 2026 NFL Draft

New video footage has emerged showing New England Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel and former reporter Dianna Russini on a private boat outing in Putnam County, Tennessee, in June 2021. The footage, which was released by the outlet TMZ, captures the pair walking on a dock before boarding a vessel they had rented for a duration of two to three hours. At the time of the outing, Russini was pregnant with her first child and reporting for ESPN on the Tennessee Titans, where Vrabel served as head coach.
The release of this video follows the circulation of other images depicting the two in various states of affection. Earlier photographs from March 2020 showed the pair kissing in New York City, while subsequent images from March 2024 appeared to show them at a luxury resort in Arizona. More recently, pictures surfaced showing the couple holding hands and hugging at a casino. Despite the mounting visual evidence, neither Mike Vrabel nor Dianna Russini has publicly addressed the specific nature of their relationship or the content of the new video footage.
Vrabel was photographed posing with employees at the boat rental company, though he reportedly requested they not share images from the day, citing a desire for a private weekend. Conversely, reports indicate that Russini refused to take any photographs during the outing. The Independent has contacted representatives for both parties for comment, but no official statements have been released regarding this specific video.
In response to the ongoing scrutiny, Russini has resigned from her role at The Athletic, where she closely followed Vrabel's team. The New York Times, which owns the sports outlet, is currently conducting an internal investigation into the situation. Russini gave birth to her first son in August 2021 and a second son in October 2022 with her husband, Kevin Goldschmidt, with whom she had married in the interim.
Vrabel initially dismissed accusations regarding his relationship with Russini as laughable. However, as more photos surfaced, he addressed the situation with reporters ahead of the 2026 NFL Draft and said he would skip part of the draft to attend counselling. He stated that he had committed to seeking counselling starting that weekend to give his family and the organisation the best version of himself, though he did not specifically mention Russini or the pictures in his statement.
The resurfaced footage from the boat dock serves as the latest development in a matter that has drawn significant attention. While the video provides new context to the timeline of events, the lack of direct comment from the individuals involved leaves the full nature of their interactions unconfirmed.
