Nets use sign-and-waive moves to prepare Murray and Wong for G League season
Brooklyn has signed and waived guards Dwight Murray Jr. and Isaiah Wong ahead of training camp, with both expected to join the Long Island Nets.
The Brooklyn Nets announced on 15 September that they had signed and waived guards Dwight Murray Jr. and Isaiah Wong before their 2026–27 training camp.
Both players are expected to join the Long Island Nets, Brooklyn’s G League affiliate. The source does not formally confirm their assignments, but the transactions establish a pathway for the guards to continue with the organisation while Brooklyn’s NBA roster is largely settled.
Murray, 26, went undrafted in 2023 after playing college basketball for Incarnate Word and Rider. He appeared for Brooklyn in the California Classic and Las Vegas Summer League this year, averaging 8.0 points, 1.7 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game.
Wong, 25, was selected 55th overall in the 2023 NBA Draft after playing at the University of Miami. He spent his first two NBA seasons with Indiana and Charlotte before joining Dreamland Gran Canaria in Spain’s ACB league, where he averaged 13.7 points last season.
Yahoo Sports, citing Hoops Rumors, reported that the moves involved Exhibit 10 contracts. Under the reported terms, each player could be eligible for a bonus of up to US$91,000 in addition to their base G League salary if they spend at least 60 days with Long Island.
Brooklyn is reported to have all 18 roster places filled for the coming season, including 15 standard contracts and three two-way contracts. The sign-and-waive transactions therefore appear focused on structuring the players’ development opportunities ahead of the campaign.
