Netflix Debuts MMA with Rousey-Carano Bout at Intuit Dome
The first mixed martial arts event broadcast on the streaming platform features a five-round featherweight contest between Ronda Rousey and Gina Carano, alongside heavyweight and welterweight matchups.

Former UFC champion Ronda Rousey and pioneering fighter Gina Carano will face each other in a mixed martial arts bout on Saturday, 16 May 2026, at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles. The event marks the debut of MMA on Netflix, produced by Most Valuable Promotions, and features a five-round featherweight contest under the Unified Rules of MMA with no title at stake.
Rousey, 39, and Carano, 44, are ending lengthy retirements for the highly anticipated matchup. Rousey stated she is fighting on her own terms to "change all of those prior associations and make this thing mine again," citing a need for her body to rest and heal from previous concussions and a loss of love for the sport towards the end of her career.
Carano, known for her acting role as Cara Dune in The Mandalorian, stated she is fighting to win and to revive her legacy as a "genuine fighter who broke a lot of barriers." She noted that she is not participating merely to fight Rousey but to prove her status as a barrier-breaking athlete who previously headlined major events.
The main card will stream globally on Netflix starting at 01:00 GMT on Sunday, 17 May 2026, while preliminaries air on Tudum from 22:00 GMT on Saturday, 16 May 2026. The card also features a heavyweight matchup between Francis Ngannou and Philipe Lins, and a bout between Nate Diaz and Mike Perry.
Rousey has publicly criticised the UFC’s upcoming White House event, describing it as an "oligarch shmooze fest" while promoting her own Netflix card. Sportsbooks list Rousey as a heavy -600 favourite, with an estimated 86 percent win likelihood, while Carano is listed at +425.
