Nehra draws sharp leadership contrast between Gill and Pandya

Gujarat Titans head coach Ashish Nehra has described Shubman Gill and Hardik Pandya as markedly different captains, comparing their personalities and approaches to leadership.

Nehra said Pandya was open, conversational and trusting during their time together at Gujarat Titans. He described Gill as more reserved, observant and concise.

The coach said both players had limited captaincy experience when they took on the role and remained willing to learn. Gill, he said, was still a work in progress and would improve through experience.

Gill assumed the Gujarat Titans captaincy after Pandya left the franchise. He subsequently led the team to the 2026 Indian Premier League final.

Pandya and Nehra had guided Gujarat Titans to the IPL title in 2022 and another final in 2023. Nehra’s comparison was reported by Yahoo Sports.
