NCAA baseball super regionals begin as top seeds fall
The NCAA baseball tournament enters its super regional stage on Friday, June 5, with the nation’s No. 1 team, UCLA, already out of contention.

The NCAA baseball tournament super regionals commence on Friday, June 5, following the conclusion of the regional round. The field has been narrowed to 16 teams, setting the stage for a best-of-three series format that will determine the final eight qualifiers for the College World Series.
Notable among the early exits is the nation’s No. 1 ranked team, UCLA, which has been eliminated from the tournament. Conversely, four-seed teams Little Rock and St. John’s have successfully advanced, contributing to the current 16-team bracket competing for the remaining postseason spots.
The super regional series run through Monday, June 8. Specific matchups include Georgia versus Mississippi State, North Carolina versus Southern California, West Virginia versus Cal Poly, and others. Game 1 for the Georgia and Mississippi State series is scheduled for 11 a.m., while the North Carolina versus Southern California series begins at 3 p.m.
Game 3 in various super regionals is scheduled only if necessary, with start times listed as to be determined. The structure ensures that only one team from each series advances, reducing the field to the eight teams that will compete in the College World Series.
The College World Series is scheduled to take place from Friday, June 12 through either Sunday, June 21 or Monday, June 22, depending on the duration of the final series. All College World Series games will be broadcast exclusively on ESPN, while the super regionals are covered across ESPN, ESPN2, and ESPNU.
