NASCAR reshapes 2027 calendar as Cup Series Clash returns to Daytona
The national motorsport body has finalised its 2027 schedules, moving key exhibition events and restructuring the O'Reilly and Truck Series venues.
NASCAR has released the official schedules for its 2027 Cup, O'Reilly, and Truck Series, marking a significant restructuring of the calendar across its three primary divisions. The announcement, detailed in a report by Fox Sports, confirms the dates and venues for the upcoming season, with the Cup Series campaign set to commence on 13 February with the Clash at Daytona.
A notable shift in the Cup Series involves the relocation of the All-Star race from Dover to North Wilkesboro. Under the new arrangement, Dover will host a points race, while North Wilkesboro will serve as the venue for the non-points All-Star event. This change accompanies the return of the Clash to Daytona, moving it away from Bowman Gray Stadium.
The O'Reilly Series schedule has also undergone adjustments, with Rockingham and one of the two Atlanta races removed from the itinerary. In their place, the series will add events at North Wilkesboro and Richmond. The O'Reilly Series season is scheduled to open at Daytona on 20 February, following the Truck Series opener on 19 February.
For the Craftsman Truck Series, the calendar sees the removal of four races, including events at Rockingham, Naval Base Coronado, Dover, and Richmond. These slots have been replaced by new dates at Bowman Gray, Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, Pocono, and a second race at Kansas. The series will conclude at Homestead on 12 November.
Broadcast rights for the 2027 Cup Series remain distributed among major networks. Fox Sports will air the first 14 events, followed by five races on Prime Video and five on TNT. The final 14 events of the season will be broadcast by USA Sports, including the season finale at Homestead on 14 November.
