NASA’s Crew-12 astronauts to discuss mission and planned return
The four astronauts are scheduled to speak from the International Space Station on 16 September, before returning after Crew-13 arrives.
NASA’s SpaceX Crew-12 astronauts are scheduled to hold a news conference from the International Space Station at 2.45pm EDT on Wednesday, 16 September 2026. They will discuss their mission and planned return to Earth.
The participants are NASA astronauts Jessica Meir and Jack Hathaway, European Space Agency astronaut Sophie Adenot, and Roscosmos cosmonaut Andrey Fedyaev.
Crew-12 joined the Expedition 74/75 crew aboard the station and contributed to hundreds of experiments supporting future human exploration beyond low Earth orbit and research with potential benefits on Earth.
The work included studies of pneumonia-causing bacteria, on-demand production of intravenous fluids for future missions, and the way physical characteristics may affect blood flow during spaceflight.
NASA says Crew-12 is expected to leave the station after Crew-13 arrives and completes a short handover period. Mission teams will assess weather at splashdown sites off the coast of California before departure.
The International Space Station has been continuously inhabited for more than 25 years. NASA says its research supports understanding of human spaceflight challenges and helps prepare for long-duration missions to the Moon and Mars.
