NASA opens media accreditation for Roman Space Telescope and Crew-13 launches

NASA has opened media accreditation for the upcoming launches of the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope and the SpaceX Crew-13 mission. Both missions are scheduled to launch from Florida in the coming months, with specific deadlines and contact details now available for journalists seeking to attend or cover the events.
The Roman Space Telescope is slated to launch no earlier than 7:20 a.m. EDT on Sunday, 30 August. The observatory will lift off aboard a SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket from Launch Complex 39A at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center. Named after NASA’s first chief astronomer, the telescope is designed to provide a deep, panoramic view of the cosmos, generating unprecedented imagery intended to revolutionise understanding of the universe.
Concurrently, the Crew-13 mission is scheduled to launch no earlier than mid-September from Space Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. This mission marks NASA’s 13th commercial crew rotation with SpaceX, utilising a Falcon 9 rocket and Dragon spacecraft to transport crew members to the International Space Station for a science and research expedition.
The Crew-13 roster includes NASA astronauts Jessica Watkins and Luke Delaney, Canadian Space Agency astronaut Joshua Kutryk, and Roscosmos cosmonaut Sergey Teteryatnikov. The launch window remains subject to change, with the agency specifying the date as no earlier than mid-September.
