NASA makes Relativity Space’s Terran R eligible for future missions
The rocket service has been added to NASA’s Launch Services II contract, but no mission or launch date has been announced.
NASA has added Relativity Space Inc.’s Terran R launch service to its Launch Services (NLS) II contract, making it available for consideration on future NASA missions.
The addition was made through the contract’s annual on-ramp provision. The provision allows new launch providers to compete for future missions and existing contractors to add launch vehicles not already covered by their agreements.
NLS II is a multiple-award, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contracting programme. Its ordering period runs through June 2030, with performance continuing through December 2032.
NASA’s Launch Services Program Office at Kennedy Space Center in Florida manages the contracts. They support the agency’s human spaceflight, science, and research and technology missions, and can also provide launch services to other government agencies, including the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
NASA did not announce a specific mission, launch date, contract value or mission requirements for Terran R. Its inclusion makes the launch service eligible for future procurement; it does not confirm that the vehicle has been assigned a NASA launch.
