NASA Astronaut Jessica Meir to Answer Student Questions from the International Space Station
The broadcast, scheduled for Thursday evening, will feature NASA astronaut Jessica Meir responding to prerecorded STEM questions from K-12 students in New York.

NASA astronaut Jessica Meir is scheduled to participate in an Earth-to-space communication event from the International Space Station (ISS) to answer prerecorded science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) questions from students. The call is hosted by the Cradle of Aviation Museum in Garden City, New York, and is designed for K-12 students and community members.
The live broadcast will commence at 11:05 p.m. EDT on Thursday, May 28. It will be streamed on the agency’s Learn With NASA YouTube channel. The event aims to deepen understanding of space exploration and enhance awareness of STEM careers among young learners.
This initiative aligns with NASA’s broader educational outreach and the Artemis program, which aims to send astronauts to the Moon to prepare for future human exploration of Mars. The ISS has been continuously inhabited by astronauts for more than 25 years, serving as a platform for testing technologies and performing science that benefits people on Earth.
Astronauts maintain constant communication with NASA’s Mission Control Center in Houston 24 hours a day via the Space Communications and Navigation (SCaN) Near Space Network. This infrastructure supports the research and technology investigations taking place aboard the space station, laying the groundwork for deeper space missions.
Media interested in covering the event must RSVP by 5 p.m. EDT on Wednesday, May 27. Inquiries should be directed to Jerelyn Zontini at the Cradle of Aviation Museum via phone at 516-567-0537 or email at [email protected].
