Naomi Osaka turns US Open walk-ons into a basketball-inspired fashion showcase
The two-time US Open champion wore designs by four labels during her New York campaign before exiting in the fourth round.

Naomi Osaka used her US Open campaign in New York to present a series of basketball-themed ensembles, extending a tournament tradition of fashion reveals before her matches.
Her first-round outfit, designed by New York streetwear label Who Decides War, featured a long white tulle skirt, a grey hooded robe and cornrows under a headband. The look drew on the style of NBA great Allen Iverson.
For the second round, Osaka wore a flowing white Thom Browne jacket embroidered with crossed tennis racquets, paired with a mesh tennis skirt resembling a basketball net. A third-round ensemble by Monse combined an oversized grey suit jacket and hoodie with flowing fleece joggers.
Her final look was a fur-trimmed, multi-coloured cloak by Brooklyn-based label KidSuper. Sky Sports linked the basketball theme to Nike’s celebration of the New York Knicks’ championship win.
Osaka, a four-time Grand Slam champion and two-time US Open champion, said fashion gave her a way to have fun and excite herself. She exited the tournament after losing to Elena Rybakina in the fourth round.
