Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua departed Tuesday’s joint practice with the Dallas Cowboys early, leaving the field alongside the team’s training staff. The exit occurred without an immediate public explanation, prompting questions regarding the star player’s availability as the club prepares for the 2026 campaign.
Rams head coach Sean McVay addressed reporters after the session concluded, stating he was unaware of the specific reason for Nacua’s early departure. The team’s public relations department provided no further updates on Nacua’s status, leaving the nature of the exit unclear.
The uncertainty surrounding Nacua’s participation coincides with reports of significant off-field complications. ESPN reported on Tuesday that the 25-year-old receiver could face suspension due to off-field conduct. Nacua was listed as the defendant in a lawsuit filed earlier this offseason, which alleges he bit a woman in the shoulder and made antisemitic remarks.
On the field, Nacua enters a contract year where he is potentially set to become one of the highest-paid wide receivers in the NFL. Last season, he led the league in receptions with 129, finished second in receiving yards with 1,715, and recorded 11 total touchdowns.
