Musiala to miss Supercup as Bayern Munich face Dortmund without key players
Vincent Kompany confirms Jamal Musiala will sit out the upcoming fixture due to treatment side effects, while Serge Gnabry and Lennart Karl are also ruled out.

Bayern Munich manager Vincent Kompany has confirmed that midfielder Jamal Musiala will not feature in the upcoming Supercup clash against Borussia Dortmund. The decision follows a slight modification to Musiala’s treatment plan, which has resulted in side effects that the club is currently managing.
Speaking at a press conference, Kompany stated that every decision was made based on the best available information. He noted that it is a normal occurrence to adjust a treatment plan and that the club now aims to revert the situation to its previous state. Musiala is expected to train individually during the week.
The absence of Musiala is not the only personnel issue facing the Bavarians. Kompany also confirmed that Serge Gnabry and Lennart Karl will be unavailable for the fixture, further complicating the squad’s selection ahead of the match.
Turning his attention to the opposition, Kompany praised the quality and power of the Borussia Dortmund side. He described the away match as a significant challenge, noting that there is no tougher challenge in the Bundesliga. The manager acknowledged that while a 50-50 fan split might have added to the atmosphere, securing a title victory in Dortmund would remain a notable achievement.
Kompany also addressed the appointment of Jürgen Klopp as the new Germany national team coach. While he kept details of their recent interactions private, he expressed anticipation for working together. The two have a history of competing against each other in fierce competition for many years, a dynamic Kompany expects to continue.
