Monster Beverage shares outpace S&P 500 over past 52 weeks

Monster Beverage shares gained 38.1% over the past 52 weeks, outperforming the S&P 500’s 18.7% return, according to reporting from Yahoo Finance and Barchart.

The stock remained 12.7% below its reported 52-week high of US$50.17, reached on 17 July. Over the past three months, Monster Beverage shares fell 1%, while the S&P 500 rose 1.8%.

Monster Beverage develops, markets and distributes energy drinks and concentrates in the US and internationally. Its reported operations span Monster Energy Drinks, Strategic Brands, Alcohol Brands and Other.

The company’s reported operating margin was 28.6%, while its free-cash-flow margin was 23.4%. Monster Beverage also outperformed Keurig Dr Pepper, whose shares gained 11.4% over the same 52-week period.

Analysts retained a Moderate Buy consensus among 24 analysts covering the stock. Their mean price target of US$48.92 implied reported upside of 11.6%, although ratings and targets reflect expectations rather than guaranteed returns.

Monster Beverage was reported to have traded above its 200-day moving average but below its 50-day moving average since late August. Market data, analyst views and technical indicators may change after publication.
