Meta opens Muse AI agent to device developers
Muse Gadgets offers open-source firmware and a Linux SDK, while Meta plans to give 5,000 subscribers its USB-C-powered Home Link.

Meta is inviting developers to build hardware for its Muse AI agent through Muse Gadgets, an open-source project that provides firmware and a Linux SDK. The initiative broadens the ways people might interact with Muse beyond Meta’s own devices.
The company has introduced the Muse Home Link, a USB-C-powered device designed to connect Muse to compatible smart home devices. Meta product head Nat Friedman said it can communicate with devices such as TVs and speakers that expose HTTPS.
Meta plans to give 5,000 Home Links to Muse subscribers. The company has not set out broader plans for the initiative, and details about compatibility remain limited.
Meta has suggested possible formats for developer-built gadgets, including an E Ink display, an HDMI dongle and a touchscreen accessory. These are examples of potential devices, rather than confirmed products.
The project follows CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s reveal of the Muse Charm at Connect last week. He presented it as a way to interact with Muse without wearing Meta’s smart glasses.
