Meta has introduced an AI assistant in Edits, its video editing app for creators, offering guidance based on Instagram audience and performance data.

The chatbot can suggest video concepts, hooks, captions and audio. Meta says it looks for patterns across a creator’s content, rather than basing suggestions on a single high-performing video.

Creators can also ask which videos have performed well or why some Reels may not have resonated with their audience. The assistant can draw on account measures including views, likes, shares, follows and retention, according to Meta.

Edits launched last year as a creator-focused video editing app and a rival to CapCut. Meta says select creators have trialled the assistant.

The feature is free up to a daily prompt limit, which Meta has not specified. The source does not detail when it will become generally available.
