Kylian Mbappe explains what makes Real Madrid’s Galactico target special: ‘So easy to play with him’
France striker’s World Cup praise underscores Bayern Munich’s reluctance to sell

Kylian Mbappe has publicly endorsed Bayern Munich winger Michael Olise as a potential Real Madrid signing, describing him as an ideal tactical partner due to his vision and anticipation. The comments were made during the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where Mbappe scored back-to-back braces for France in their opening matches. While Real Madrid view Olise as a dream target to bolster their right flank with left-footed creativity, Bayern Munich are reportedly unwilling to sell and are pushing for a contract renewal.

Speaking to Fabrizio Romano, Mbappe highlighted the natural synergy he experiences with the French international. “It’s so easy to play with Michael Olise,” Mbappe said. “He makes it easier, playing with his heads up… he can always see my movements. I love playing with Michael.” Olise provided support in France’s first two World Cup games, alongside Ousmane Dembele in the second match, contributing to an attacking unit that has functioned effectively on the international stage.

Real Madrid’s interest in Olise is rooted in specific structural needs within their attack. The club’s right side has long been identified as requiring a player with left-footed creativity and final-third vision to complement Vinicius Junior on the left and Mbappe through the middle. Olise’s ability to play with his head up and anticipate runs aligns with Madrid’s philosophy of movement, timing, and quick recognition of space.

Despite the clear sporting logic, the feasibility of a transfer remains highly uncertain. Bayern Munich are not open to negotiations and are actively pushing to renew Olise’s contract. Reports suggest that any serious operation would require an enormous fee, making a move extremely difficult in the current market. Florentino Perez is reportedly a fan of Olise, but the club faces significant challenges in securing the player’s signature.

Mbappe’s recent performance against Iraq, where he scored twice to reach 16 career World Cup goals and his 100th national team appearance, adds weight to his endorsement. However, football analysts note that while Olise looks like a brilliant fit in theory, the market reality makes a summer transfer unlikely. It would be a “huge surprise” if the deal happens this year, with the focus remaining on Bayern’s efforts to retain their star winger.
