Mbappé to miss France Nations League matches with knee injury

Real Madrid says Kylian Mbappé hyperextended the posterior capsule of his left knee. The club reported the diagnosis after medical tests.

Mbappé was injured shortly after scoring in France’s 1–0 win over Turkiye on Friday. He left the pitch after receiving treatment.

France coach Zinedine Zidane said Mbappé would not be risked in the team’s next three Nations League matches, scheduled over the next 10 days against Belgium, Italy and Belgium.

Real Madrid’s match against Villarreal on 10 October may come too soon for his return. The club has not confirmed a recovery timeline.

Spanish newspaper AS reported that Mbappé could be available for Real Madrid’s El Clásico against Barcelona on 25 October, but his participation is unconfirmed.
