Manchester United weigh first-team pathway for 15-year-old JJ Gabriel

Manchester United are reportedly assessing how and when to involve 15-year-old striker JJ Gabriel in official first-team matches after his standout UEFA Youth League debut.
The report from Yahoo Sports, citing Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, says United officials have been highly impressed by Gabriel and are considering the next stage of his development. Romano described the teenager as a major focus among the club’s young players.
Gabriel scored three goals against Sabah after Amir Ibragimov and Jacob Watson had given United’s under-19 side an early lead. United’s senior team later recorded a 4–0 Champions League victory over Sabah at Old Trafford.
According to the report, Gabriel was promoted to United’s under-21 side during the summer and has occasionally trained with the first team. He was also listed in Michael Carrick’s first-team squad and featured in a summer friendly against Atlético Madrid.
Those details have prompted speculation that Gabriel could be nearing an official senior appearance. However, the available material does not confirm that he will make his first-team debut this season, leaving the timing and extent of any promotion to be determined by United’s coaching and technical staff.
