The Finals Day double-header delivered contrasting outcomes, as Manchester survived a late collapse to edge the Trent Rockets by five wickets, while the Trent Rockets Women dominated Sunrisers Leeds by eight wickets.
In the men’s final, the Trent Rockets posted a competitive total of 158 for 8 from their 100 balls. Aneurin Donald led the recovery with a rapid 38 off 19 balls, supported by captain Lewis Gregory’s 32 from 19 deliveries. The innings was built on aggressive strokeplay after early wickets for the Rockets disrupted their momentum, setting a target that Manchester Super Giants, formerly known as Manchester Originals, ultimately chased down.
Tim Seifert played a pivotal role in Manchester’s victory, scoring 72 runs off 38 balls, including seven sixes. His calculated aggression kept the Super Giants ahead of the required rate and placed significant pressure on the Trent Rockets’ bowling attack. Paul Walter provided crucial support, adding 22 runs off 14 balls to form a 66-run partnership with Seifert from just 31 balls. Sunrisers Leeds, featuring batter Phoebe Litchfield, were unable to withstand the Rockets’ dominance in the decisive match.
Beyond the on-field results, the Trent Rockets organisation was awarded the inaugural Helix trophy for the best combined franchise performance across both the men’s and women’s competitions. The accolade recognised the team’s consistent strength throughout the tournament, having secured spots in both finals prior to the conclusion.
