Patrick Mahomes is the early favourite for the 2026 NFL Comeback Player of the Year award, according to DraftKings odds reported by Fox Sports on 15 September. Mahomes is listed at +100, with Aaron Donald next among the leading contenders at +900.

Mahomes returned from ACL and LCL injuries suffered during Kansas City’s Week 15 game against the Chargers last season. He started the Chiefs’ Week 1 win over Denver, recording 184 passing yards, two passing touchdowns, a rushing touchdown and an interception.

Donald has returned from retirement to rejoin the Rams, but did not play in their Week 1 match in Australia, a 27-7 loss to the San Francisco 49ers. The three-time Defensive Player of the Year winner is among the players listed in the early market despite not yet appearing this season.

The odds also include Jayden Daniels, Malik Nabers and Kyler Murray at +1000. Fred Warner, Daniel Jones and Cam Skattebo are listed at +2000, followed by Micah Parsons and George Kittle at +2200, and Travis Hunter at +2500.

Christian McCaffrey won the 2025 award after returning from injuries and producing 2,126 total yards, including 1,202 rushing yards and 10 rushing touchdowns. The figures reported by Fox Sports are early betting odds, rather than confirmed outcomes for the award.
