Daniel Jones will make his first prime-time start for the Indianapolis Colts against the Kansas City Chiefs, bringing a reported 1–15 record in those games into the matchup.
CBS Sports reports that Jones has not thrown a touchdown in his past eight prime-time starts, a streak it describes as the longest by any quarterback since the 1970 AFL–NFL merger. He has also gone six consecutive prime-time games without a touchdown pass while recording at least one interception.
All 16 of Jones’s previous prime-time starts came with the New York Giants. His only win was a 20–12 victory over Washington in 2022, while he has lost his past six prime-time starts, according to the report.
The game will be Jones’s second appearance since returning from an Achilles tear. Indianapolis entered Week 2 after a 41–23 loss to Baltimore, while Kansas City opened its season with a 31–10 win over Denver.
The matchup is scheduled for Sunday Night Football at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium, with kick-off set for 8:20 p.m. ET. Jones now has an opportunity to alter a record CBS Sports characterises as one of the poorest among starting quarterbacks in prime time.
