LSU completes roster without adding former NFL rookies

LSU has completed its 105-man roster for the 2026 season by adding returning cornerback Aidan Anding and defensive end Gabriel Reliford, according to sources cited by ESPN.

The move ends the school’s efforts to add former NFL rookies Dae’Quan Wright and Zxavian Harris, who had been cleared by a Louisiana judge to pursue a fifth year of college eligibility. Both players signed with NFL teams as undrafted free agents earlier this year after playing under Lane Kiffin at Ole Miss.

Anding and Reliford had been omitted from LSU’s roster before its season opener against Clemson after suffering spring injuries. LSU won that match 51–10.

The roster decision follows a legal dispute between LSU and the SEC. The conference has said its rules prevent former professional players from joining member-school rosters, while the preliminary injunction barred the NCAA and SEC from punishing schools over the eligibility claims involving Wright, Harris and other athletes.

Ryan Downton, the lawyer for Wright and Harris, told ESPN that the players are considering their legal options. The SEC has also scheduled a Thursday meeting of its presidents and chancellors to vote on whether to terminate LSU’s membership.

The membership vote and any further legal action had not occurred at the time of reporting, leaving the effect of the court order and its interaction with SEC rules unresolved.
