Liz Truss moves podcast to Mike Graham’s UKLive YouTube channel
The former prime minister is expected to livestream twice a week on a channel with a larger reported audience than her existing platform.
Former UK prime minister Liz Truss is relaunching her podcast on broadcaster Mike Graham’s UKLive YouTube channel, where she is expected to livestream twice a week. No launch date or schedule has been provided.
The move gives Truss access to a larger reported audience. UKLive has about 179,000 subscribers, compared with 32,300 on Truss’s existing channel, according to The Guardian’s report.
Truss previously described the podcast as a “counter-revolution” against what she called the “deep state”. Earlier episodes often received fewer than 4,000 views, according to the report, which cited audience and platform data that have not been independently verified here.
Graham was dismissed by TalkTV after a racist post appeared on his Facebook account. He said he had been hacked and denied posting it. He later established UKLive, which became widely associated with an on-air exchange in which he said concrete could be “grown”.
The channel features presenters including Laurence Fox, Mark Littlewood and Ellie Hodges. Its operation also reflects the expanding role of YouTube in political broadcasting, where channels can operate outside the regulatory framework applied to mainstream television.
