Emotional Littler beats Humphries in epic Premier League final
Teenage world number one avenges previous defeats to Humphries in deciding leg

World champion Luke Littler has secured his second Premier League Darts title, defeating defending champion Luke Humphries 11-10 in a deciding leg at The O2 on 28 May 2026. The 19-year-old’s victory, sealed with a checkout in double 20, avenged previous final losses to Humphries and solidifies his status as the world number one. Littler averaged 111 and hit 12 maximums during the match, while Humphries finished with an average of 105.

The win adds to a remarkable 2026 campaign for Littler, who has now claimed every major televised darts final this year. The teenager also holds the World Masters and UK Open titles, bringing his total of Professional Darts Corporation ranking titles to seven of the eight available. Littler described the victory as emotional, noting that earlier struggles in the tournament had led him to question his future in the sport.

Littler revealed he had considered quitting after a difficult start to the competition, citing a 79 average in Brighton and an incident in Manchester involving an argument with Gian van Veen. "I was sat at home saying to Faith, 'I don't want to do it anymore, just the crowd every week'," Littler said. However, he rebounded strongly from that low point to defeat Gerwyn Price in the semi-finals, where he overcame a five-leg losing streak to force a decider.

Humphries, the world number two, advanced to the final by defeating Jonny Clayton in a semi-final that also went to a deciding leg. The match featured missed match darts from both players before Humphries secured his spot in the final. The contest was watched by 16,000 spectators at The O2, marking a repeat matchup from the previous two years.

Littler and Humphries are set to partner for England in June’s World Cup, a collaboration that follows Littler’s consolidation of his position at the top of the sport. The victory marks Littler’s second Premier League title, having previously won the competition in 2024.
