Lewandowski confirms departure from Barcelona as ‘mission complete’
Robert Lewandowski states he will leave FC Barcelona at the end of his contract this summer, citing a completed mission after helping restore the club’s domestic dominance.

Robert Lewandowski has confirmed he will depart FC Barcelona at the conclusion of his contract this summer, marking the end of a four-year tenure that saw the club reclaim its position at the top of Spanish football. The 37-year-old Polish striker stated that his "mission is complete" following a period of significant institutional restoration for the club.
Since joining from Bayern Munich in 2022, Lewandowski scored 119 goals in 191 games across all competitions. His arrival coincided with a period of financial struggle for the club, and he has credited his time in Catalonia with helping to restore the team to the Spanish throne. The striker’s contributions were instrumental in securing three La Liga titles, including the current season’s trophy, as well as the 2025 Copa del Rey.
In an Instagram post on Saturday, Lewandowski reflected on the challenges of his tenure. "After four years full of challenges and hard work, it’s time to move on," he wrote. He described Catalonia as his "place on Earth" and expressed gratitude for the support received from fans since his first days at the club.
Lewandowski is scheduled to play his final match at Camp Nou on Sunday against Real Betis. The upcoming fixture will serve as the conclusion to his competitive career with the Catalan side, following a stint that also saw the team compete for the Champions League.
Media reports indicate that Lewandowski has received offers from clubs in Saudi Arabia, Italy, and the United States. While these reports suggest potential destinations, his next club remains unconfirmed as he prepares to conclude his contract with Barcelona.
