Rafael Leao made his first Galatasaray appearance as a second-half substitute in the club’s 3–2 Turkish Super Lig victory over Istanbul Basaksehir.

The Portugal international played 22 minutes in his first outing of the season after joining Galatasaray from Milan during the final stages of the summer transfer window.

Leao was involved in the build-up to Lucas Torreira’s equaliser shortly after entering the match. With the score level at 2–2, he also drew the foul that preceded Umut Bozok’s dismissal.

Galatasaray signed the former Serie A MVP winner for an initial €38 million. Milan had previously placed a €175 million release clause in his contract.
