Philadelphia Eagles right tackle Lane Johnson has announced his retirement, ending a 14-season NFL career spent entirely with the club.

Johnson, 36, said he had wanted to play one more season but, after reflection, had decided to focus on personal and family priorities and his mental health. He said he could not give football his full commitment at this time.

The announcement followed Johnson being a surprise inactive on Sunday. The Eagles said then that his absence was for personal reasons.

Johnson leaves as a two-time All-Pro and two-time Super Bowl champion. He made six Pro Bowls during his career.

ESPN reported the retirement on Tuesday. The report did not specify when it takes effect or outline Johnson’s future plans.
