Korn Ferry Tour professional Ryan McCormick recorded a score of 13 on the ninth hole during the second round of the Albertsons Boise Open at Hillcrest Country Club. The incident occurred on Friday as McCormick navigated the par-4 hole, where he hit five consecutive tee shots out of bounds into a sea of trees.
McCormick, a 34-year-old New Jersey native and St. John’s University product, had opened the tournament with a five-over 76. He was three over par for the day without a birdie when he reached his final hole. Despite the poor standing, he proceeded to drive out of bounds five times before his eleventh shot sailed 325 yards into the rough.
From 88 yards, McCormick chipped onto the putting surface. He then made a 20-foot, 5-inch putt to complete the hole. The single-putt finish for a 13 was highlighted on social media by Byron Lindeque on 14 August 2026, drawing attention to the unusual sequence of events.
McCormick signed for a final tournament score of 83. The result continues a challenging season for the professional, who has missed seven cuts in 11 starts this year. He has recorded only one top-25 finish during this period.
