Klarob NuiCafeboran and Sornsueknoi FA Group are scheduled to meet in the flyweight Muay Thai main event at ONE Friday Fights 171 on 18 September at Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok.

The bout will be Klarob’s first headlining appearance on the ONE Friday Fights series. The 26-year-old PK Saenchai Muaythaigym representative has won his past two fights, stopping Babak “Thunder” Haghi before outpointing Omar El Halabi, and has taken three victories from four promotional appearances.

Sornsueknoi, 31, brings greater experience in ONE Championship, with six victories in the promotion, including four stoppages. The FA Group fighter enters the contest after a narrow split-decision loss to Rambong Sor Therapat.

The matchup has been framed around Klarob’s youth and recent form against Sornsueknoi’s experience and boxing. Klarob has trained for a month with an emphasis on elbows, kicking and working at different ranges.

Klarob has identified Sornsueknoi’s low kicks and body punches as threats. A win could move either fighter closer to a potential US$100,000 ONE Championship main-roster contract, although no contract is confirmed and the fight’s result has not been reported.
