Kienholz makes strong Louisville start in narrow Ole Miss defeat

Lincoln Kienholz produced an impressive first start for Louisville, but could not prevent a 41–38 defeat by No. 9 Ole Miss.
The former Ohio State quarterback completed 18 of 29 passes for 307 yards and two touchdowns. He added 69 rushing yards and a touchdown, without throwing an interception.
Louisville trailed by 14 points with fewer than five minutes remaining before Kienholz helped bring the Cardinals level. He connected on a 54-yard touchdown pass before scoring on a seven-yard run with 1:28 left.
Ole Miss responded with a final drive and secured victory with a field goal as time expired, denying Louisville a comeback win.
Kienholz transferred after spending three seasons behind Julian Sayin at Ohio State and won Louisville’s starting role during the off-season. Louisville is scheduled to face FCS opponent Villanova next Saturday at 7 p.m. ET.
