Jones says Cowboys must review late-game decisions after Ravens loss
Jerry Jones said coaching errors contributed to Dallas’s 34–31 defeat, after Baltimore turned a late tying field goal into a winning kick.
Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said the team’s coaching staff made mistakes in late-game management that contributed to its 34–31 loss to the Baltimore Ravens. He said the coaches had no explanation for the decisions that satisfied them, and that the club would evaluate how to avoid repeating them.
Dallas had a first down at Baltimore’s two-yard line with 23 seconds remaining, but did not score a touchdown. Brandon Aubrey’s field goal tied the game, leaving Baltimore time to respond.
Lamar Jackson then completed a 27-yard pass to Zay Flowers, setting up Tyler Loop’s 56-yard field goal as time expired.
Jones said Dallas would be better for the experience. He also described the Cowboys as “very much in the hunt”.
The loss left Dallas with a 1–2 record, according to Fox Sports. The report said the Cowboys were scheduled to visit the Houston Texans the following Sunday.
