Jamieson ends 14-year title drought with Nexo Championship victory

Scott Jamieson ended a 14-year wait for a DP World Tour title with an emotional home victory at the Nexo Championship in Scotland. The Scotsman finished on 11 under par, two strokes clear of England’s Matthew Jordan, to claim his first major tour victory since December 2012.

Jamieson overturned a two-shot deficit during a decisive final round at Trump International Golf Links. He carded a five-under 67, mixing a lone bogey with six birdies, including four in a five-hole stretch around the turn. This performance allowed him to pull clear of a congested leaderboard and secure the win.

The result was marred by controversy for overnight leader Shaun Norris, who was sharing the lead entering the back nine. The South African was assessed a two-shot penalty on the front nine for improving his stance, a ruling that significantly impacted his final position.

Norris eventually posted a four-over 76 to finish tied-seventh on five under par. The penalty drama saw him drop back from the top of the leaderboard, with Jordan finishing runner-up and England’s Andy Sullivan taking third place.

Quim Vidal, Marcus Kinhult, and Keita Nakajima shared fourth place on six under par. The outcome highlights the tight competitive field at the event, with multiple players finishing within a few strokes of the winner.

The DP World Tour remains in the UK for the next event, the Husqvarna British Masters at The Belfry. This tournament serves as the opening event in the qualification campaign for the 2027 European Ryder Cup team, with live coverage scheduled to begin on Thursday at 12.30pm on Sky Sports Golf.
