Ireland and Israel drew 1-1 in their second UEFA Nations League meeting, a match played behind closed doors in Serbia amid political tensions and calls in Ireland to boycott the fixtures.

Irish media reported that Ireland coach Damien Doyle accused an Israeli player of spitting at him after the half-time whistle. Ireland manager Heimir Hallgrimsson said he had been present but declined to give details, saying a disciplinary committee would examine the incident.

Israel coach Ran Ben-Shimon said he was in the dressing room at half-time and did not see what happened. No disciplinary finding was reported.

Troy Parrott put Ireland ahead from the penalty spot in the 39th minute. Dor Peretz equalised just after the break; Israel later hit the woodwork twice, but neither side found a winner.

The draw left Ireland third in Group B3 on five points and Israel bottom on two. Ireland had beaten Israel 3-0 in their first meeting a week earlier.
