The move finalises the return of the academy graduate to the Serie A champions, yet reports from Gazzetta indicate that his stay at San Siro is unlikely to be permanent. The club is reportedly prepared to accept offers of €40 million from clubs in the Bundesliga and the Premier League.
Stankovic spent the 2025-26 season on loan in Belgium, where he made 55 appearances across all competitions. During this period, he contributed nine goals and five assists, a performance record that has attracted interest from several European clubs. His agent has been informed of the specific interest from Premier League sides, which are reportedly ready to submit bids around the €40 million mark.
The midfielder is the son of former Inter star Dejan Stankovic and a product of the club’s youth system. He previously played for Inter’s Primavera team during the 2022-23 season under Cristian Chivu.
