India has secured a commanding 2-0 lead in the three-match Twenty20 international series against Zimbabwe, following a 90-run victory in the second match at the Harare Sports Club. The win consolidates India’s position in the series, coming shortly after they defeated Zimbabwe by seven wickets in the opening fixture with 40 balls to spare.
Chasing a formidable target, India posted a total of 219-5, driven by a decisive middle-order partnership. Ishan Kishan scored 81 runs off 44 balls, while Tilak Varma remained unbeaten on 60 off 29 balls. The pair accelerated the scoring rate during the middle overs, adding 94 runs for the fourth wicket in 44 balls before Kishan was dismissed for catching a wide delivery in the deep.
In response, Zimbabwe faced a challenging run chase and were bowled out for 129 in 17.5 overs. Opener Brian Bennett provided early resistance, scoring 32 runs off 19 balls, but his dismissal marked a turning point in the innings. He fell to Yash Thakur, who claimed 2-30 on his T20 international debut.
