India seal T20 series against Afghanistan with seven-wicket win
India reached 163-3 in 14.5 overs to win the second match and secure the three-match series with one game remaining.
India secured its three-match T20 series against Afghanistan after beating the hosts by seven wickets in the second match on Tuesday, according to Al Jazeera. The result gave India an unassailable lead with one game remaining.
Afghanistan made 159-8 from 20 overs after India won the toss and chose to field. Nitish Reddy took 3-24 from three overs as Afghanistan slipped from 59-2 to 100-6 during the middle overs.
A late 48-run partnership between Rashid Khan and Mohammad Nabi lifted Afghanistan’s total. Khan made 28 from 16 balls, while Nabi scored 20 from 14.
India’s chase was driven by Sanju Samson, who scored 57 from 22 balls, including four sixes and seven fours. He and opening partner Abhishek Sharma added 88 from 38 deliveries, with Sharma contributing 39 from 19 balls.
Rashid Khan took three Indian wickets, but Ishan Kishan, unbeaten on 38, and Tilak Varma completed the chase. India reached its target in 14.5 overs, having also won the opening match by seven wickets on Sunday.
