Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts said a pre-game production meeting with FOX commentator Tom Brady focused on making the correct play, maintaining poise and executing consistently.
Hurts completed 14 of 25 passes for 203 yards and three touchdowns without an interception as Philadelphia defeated the Washington Commanders 24–22. He also ran for 46 yards from seven carries.
The quarterback said the discussion covered checking whether the Eagles were in the best run, protecting against pressure and ensuring players were correctly aligned. He framed those responsibilities as part of operating within the play design rather than forcing spectacular plays.
A 22-yard fourth-quarter scramble on third-and-18 helped set up Hurts’ game-sealing touchdown pass to Dallas Goedert. Hurts said decisive late-game moments should follow consistent execution and a willingness to meet the opportunity when it arrives.
Hurts also referred to Saquon Barkley’s previous game-closing play against Washington as an example of turning an opportunity into an important play. He said Philadelphia had plenty to build on, as well as areas to correct, ahead of its Week 2 meeting with the Tennessee Titans.
