Hull rise to third as Chelsea and Liverpool drop points
Chelsea were held 2-2 by Hull, while Liverpool drew 0-0 with Fulham as Aston Villa remained winless and in the relegation zone.
Hull moved to third in the Premier League after holding Chelsea to a 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge, extending an unbeaten start to their return to the top flight.
Mohamed Belloumi scored twice for Hull after Chelsea opened the match with an early goal from Morgan Rogers. Joao Pedro later equalised for the hosts, but Chelsea could not find a winner. Al Jazeera reported that Chelsea have scored 16 goals and conceded 12 in five top-flight matches since Xabi Alonso took charge.
Liverpool remained unbeaten under Andoni Iraola but were held to a 0-0 draw by Fulham. The result gave Fulham their first point under Alvaro Arbeloa, while Liverpool moved to sixth. Fulham created the better chances, with Alisson Becker making a decisive save to deny Josh King.
Aston Villa remained winless and in the relegation zone after losing 2-1 to Nottingham Forest at Villa Park. Liam Delap put Forest ahead, Alysson equalised with Villa’s first league goal of the season, and Igor Jesus secured Forest’s first win under Oliver Glasner.
Crystal Palace lost 3-2 at home to Ipswich despite the visitors being reduced to 10 men after Axel Disasi’s red card. Zian Flemming scored Ipswich’s stoppage-time winner. Brentford stayed unbeaten after Kevin Schade scored twice in a 2-2 draw at Bournemouth.
