YEMEN CONFLICT

Yemen’s Transport Ministry said a missile landed near Aden International Airport’s runway shortly before a flight from Cairo was due to arrive. The plane diverted to Jeddah, and two aircraft on the runway were moved as a precaution, the ministry said.

Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saree claimed the group also attacked King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, Abha International Airport and an air base in Khamis Mushait, using missiles and drones. Saudi authorities had not confirmed the reported airport attacks.

Separately, the Saudi-led coalition said it intercepted and destroyed a ballistic missile north of Riyadh, tracing its launch to a site in Houthi-controlled Sanaa. The source did not establish the missile’s intended target.

The claims came as fighting intensified on several fronts. Saudi-backed government forces launched a counteroffensive along Yemen’s Red Sea coast after Houthi territorial gains in recent weeks, according to Deutsche Welle.
