Houthi attacks injure 13 civilians in southern Saudi Arabia

Yemen’s Houthis reportedly attacked civilian areas in southern Saudi Arabia with ballistic missiles and drones, injuring 13 civilians, according to the Saudi-led coalition cited by France 24.
The coalition said the attacks, reported on Monday, struck Khamis Mushait, Abha and Taif. It attributed minor to moderate injuries to 13 civilians and said seven houses and two vehicles were damaged. The claims have not been independently corroborated in the supplied material.
Saudi Arabia warned it would respond firmly and said it would take operational measures to protect the kingdom’s sovereignty and deter further attacks. Civil Defence issued emergency alerts in several cities before declaring the danger had passed.
The Houthis said the Saudi-led coalition carried out more than 50 strikes in western Yemen, a figure also not independently verified. The reported exchanges come amid increased Houthi attacks on Saudi cities and energy infrastructure, alongside reported advances along Yemen’s Red Sea coast towards the Bab el-Mandeb Strait.
France 24 also reported a US Defence Department inspector-general finding that ammunition used during Operation Epic Fury had contributed to strategic inventory shortfalls and exposed bottlenecks in munitions production. That report was separate from the Saudi attacks.
