Chase Elliott and the Hendrick Motorsports No. 9 team have advanced to third place in the NASCAR Cup Series championship standings after securing two victories in the opening 11 races of the season. Team vice chairman Jeff Gordon and crew chief Alan Gustafson attribute the current success to a combination of early wins and sustained consistency. Gordon noted that while the team relies on fine-tuning rather than reinventing the wheel, securing a win every eight to ten races is essential to prevent the hard work from draining the entire crew, including the pit crew and driver. Gustafson, who has served as crew chief for over two decades, suggested that the team is operating at a championship calibre.
