Manchester City striker Erling Haaland has revealed a new buzzcut on social media, marking a distinct departure from his previous appearance as the new Premier League season approaches. The 26-year-old captioned the post "New season, new trim," signalling a fresh start for the club and himself.

The change in hairstyle has elicited varied responses from those within and outside the footballing world. Haaland shared video reactions from current team-mate Jack Grealish, Oasis member Noel Gallagher, and former manager Pep Guardiola, all of whom expressed approval of the new look.

Grealish commented that the change was hilarious and that he loved it, while Guardiola noted that he would love to have such hair. Gallagher, meanwhile, remarked that Haaland looked about 17 years old and that change was good.

In contrast, former Sweden international Zlatan Ibrahimovic was less impressed by the decision. Haaland had previously joked that Ibrahimovic advised him never to cut his hair, claiming his strength lay in his locks. Ibrahimovic responded to the video call by suggesting Haaland had lost a bet, joking that he should block his number.

The new haircut appears to be the first since Haaland’s time at Borussia Dortmund. He is scheduled to make his return to action when Manchester City face Bournemouth at 14:00 BST on Sunday, with the striker aiming to get off the mark in the new campaign.

The reveal comes as the club prepares for the upcoming season, with Haaland’s new look serving as a symbolic reset for the team’s objectives.
