The Cleveland Guardians beat the Chicago White Sox 9–3 in Game 3 of the American League Division Series, avoiding a sweep and forcing a fourth game. Chicago had entered the game one win from advancing after taking Game 2 by 4–3.

Jo Adell hit a three-run triple with two outs in the third inning to give Cleveland a 4–1 lead. José Ramírez’s two-run triple in the eighth extended the advantage to 7–3.

Cleveland recorded 11 hits, including two triples in a postseason game for the first time in franchise history. Adell, Ramírez, Patrick Bailey and Brayan Rocchio each had two hits, according to Fox Sports.
