Made by Google 2026: all the Pixel news and announcements
Annual hardware launch shifts to evening slot with Trevor Noah hosting; preorders open eight hours before livestream

Google is preparing to reveal its latest hardware lineup at the Made by Google 2026 event, scheduled for 12 August 2026 at 6PM ET. The annual launch, which will be hosted by comedian Trevor Noah, is expected to introduce the Pixel 11 smartphone series, the next-generation Pixel Fold, and the Pixel Watch 5.

According to leaks and teasers from Google, the Pixel 11 lineup will feature a range of new colours. Reports also suggest that Pro models within the series will include a built-in light, a feature not previously standard on the device. The Pixel Watch 5 is anticipated to be available in four different finishes, while a new Pixel Tag tracker, comparable to Apple’s AirTag, may also be announced.

The event marks a significant shift in format from last year’s Made by Google launch. The Pixel 10 event, which resembled a late-night talk show hosted by Jimmy Fallon, featured celebrity cameos and skits. That stream attracted 8.4 million viewers on YouTube, a substantial increase from the 1.4 million viewers for the previous year’s launch. This year, the structure will be more traditional, with devices expected to be revealed ahead of the main livestream.

Preorders for the new devices are scheduled to open at 10AM ET on 12 August, eight hours before the main event begins. Google’s website countdown indicates that the phones will likely be fully revealed in the Google Store prior to the evening broadcast. The event will also feature a lineup of guests, including NBA star Stephen Curry, podcaster Alex Cooper, Indian cricketer Shubman Gill, Japanese actress Ayami Nakajo, and DJ Peggy Gou.

Unlike previous years, this year’s event is taking place in the evening at 6PM ET (3PM PT), rather than in the early afternoon or mid-morning. While specifications and features are based on leaks rather than official confirmation, the event aims to showcase Google’s latest slab-style and foldable smartphones, updated wearables, and potential new accessories.
