Google stages Gemini 4 Argon rollout for cyber defenders
The model is designed for software engineering, enterprise work and cybersecurity. Google says wider access will follow further testing and safety work.
Google has announced Gemini 4 Argon, a model for software engineering, enterprise knowledge work and cybersecurity defence. It is initially rolling out to trusted cyber defenders through the company’s Fairwind Program.
Google says Argon can find, validate and patch software vulnerabilities. The company says it will release the model to trusted defenders and its own internal teams without cyber guardrails, while continuing work on safeguards before broader access.
Google plans to expand availability after gathering feedback and completing further testing and safety work. It says developers, enterprises and consumers will be able to access the model later, with the initial public release aimed at paid API customers and Google AI Ultra subscribers. No date was given.
The planned introductory API price is US$2 per million input tokens and US$10 per million output tokens. Google lists an output limit of up to one million tokens.
Google reports scores of 77.9% on the DeepSWE v1.1 software engineering benchmark and 68% on CWE-bench v1 for vulnerability remediation. These results and the company’s capability claims have not been independently verified in the supplied material.
